OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH

I wander to expand, to explore, to laugh, to unwind, and to connect. I seek out the unique…places, things, experiences and people. You’ll find me off-the-beaten path. I blog to ignite a fire in others, to share my lessons and treasures, and to always remember.
I am 46. I am no longer a housewife. I am a loving mother, daughter and friend. And, I will always wander…
“I love to wander, be it a new city or out in the empty wilderness. I want to get out there and find what surprises me.” ~ Andrew Evans
(OK, enough waxing poetic. I forget things. I love to share. So here we are.)

  1. How we missed each other! I was in Munich from Dec 26 – Jan 7 pretty much covering the same locations. Craving for more historical places, I extended my trip to Austria and Hungary! It was the most memorable visit to Europe ever since I visited Tibetan Kailash mountains. I see that you didn’t cover Linderhof Schloss, Garmisch and Zugspitz. Someday we will meet in some place interesting.

  2. Hello! I come from Zarzecze, near Kłyżów. I`ve got the same name like Your`s father`s mother. Remember about Your roots and origin. Be proud of it!

    • Such a small world…I wish I knew even more about my family’s history, but unfortunately they didn’t pass very much on. I truly enjoyed Poland…one of the best trips I have ever taken.

  3. Nice to connect with you, Janet. (We’re both in the Travel Bloggers grp on LI.)

Travel is such an enriching part of my life and has opened my mind to global culture. You can never go back once the door has been opened!

    See you in the blogosphere!

  4. I would love to use janet d’s post on Hollenbeck Canyon in our upcoming Deerhorn Valley Antler. We’re a little community just up Honey Springs from Hollenbeck, and her writing is lovely. Can you help? We’ll credit her and give the link. Thanks! Kim Hamilton, Editor [I'm on a major tight schedule, so hoping you get this in the next 24]
